Q1. What is the Women’s Business Network?
A1. The Women’s Business Network is an initiative aimed at promoting women in business. WBN is non-political, informal and open to all individuals, both women and men, who are interested in supporting networking, mentoring and promoting leadership role models among women.


Q2. Are you a feminist oriented organization?
A2. WBN is a non-political, informal initiative that is open for everyone who is interested in supporting networking, mentoring and promoting leadership role models among women. We do not intend to promote any views or positions that might go beyond this subject.


Q3. What is the legal status of WBN?
A3. WBN is an informal initiative formed by a few individuals who share the common goal of helping to promote women in business. We are not registered as a legal entity. We simply create a forum for people who are interested in the role of women in business.


Q4. What is the relationship between WBN and ASPIRE?
A4: ASPIRE is a partner of WBN. Seventy per cent of people working in ASPIRE member companies are women and ASPIRE supports WBN aims of supporting networking, mentoring and promoting leadership role models among women. ASPIRE provides some administrative support to WBN, helping with such things as databases and mailing lists and hosting WBN on the ASPIRE website.

Q5. What is the role of the companies that you represent in this initiative?
A5. WBN is an informal initiative of individuals who share the common goal of helping to promote women in business. However, there is a role for companies to share their expertise and/or sponsor our events.


Q6. Are you linked to any similar initiatives in other cities or countries?
A6. We are an independent forum, not linked to any initiatives in Poland or abroad. As our initiative develops we may consider taking such a route, but at this point in time we are focused on developing locally.


Q7: I am an interested candidate and would love to get your support/mentoring. What do I need to do?
A7: WBN is about creating an environment where women can learn about how to develop their careers. We do not provide training or mentoring schemes. People who are interested are welcome to attend our meetings during which we provide prominent speakers on topics relevant to professional development.


Q8: I would like to support your initiative. How can I best contribute?
A8: There are many ways to support WBN. We are always looking for interesting speakers who can share their experience with others during our meetings. We also welcome volunteers who can support us in organisation of our events. Interested companies or individuals can also become sponsors of our events. Q9: Where do you find speakers for your meetings?
A9: Our speakers come from different organisations and areas/fields of business. We are looking for people with solid business experience and competences that are relevant to our objective of promoting women in business.
